Brenda & Alan Wedding Day

Posted by:  /  Tags: , ,

This was wedding that I enjoyed. I go back a long way with the Mc Dermott family, especially the time of the pony drives, Brenda was only a child then, and the whole family enjoyed the horses.
I started in Brenda’s home, and it is just beside the Church, I was back at the house twice, The Ceremony was performed by Fr. Gerry Hanley who I have known since our school days in Sligo. Alan was in great form and the day went great. The wedding reception was in the Radisson in Sligo, the band was Busy Fingers and they kept everyone on the floor.

I would like to wish Brenda and Alan a long and happy life together.

Leanne & Alan Wedding Day Fri 25th August 2017

Leanne & Alan were married in the Sacred Heart Church Roscommon. I started with the Groom in the Hotel, then back to the Brides home. I had Leanne dressed up in her uniform on the morning and it was great fun getting the Bridesmaids running her up the stairs to get Leanne ready for her big day.
The ceremony was performed by my old friend Fr John Cullen, he made it so easy for all. The Abbey came up trumps with the meal, we had the Two Willies performing after the meal, they came in dressed up as Guards.
Mark Buckles Band were great, the crowd loved them. I worked on until the Band Finished.
It was great to be with Phillip Stratford photography it was like old times,he is so easy to work with, no hassle.
I did Leanne’s Uncle Tom ans Celia wife’s wedding 25 years ago.

I would like to wish Leanne and Alan a long and happy life together.

Eimear & Joe
Wedding Day Sat 19th August 2017.
This was a wedding also where I called to the Grooms home in Caherlestrane a few days before the Big day. The Brides Father drove me. The Ceremony was held in Lecanvey Church and The Castlecourt Hotel both in Westport. I must say I give top marks for doing it right to the Castlecourt.
I had two firsts I did George and Marian’s wedding( Brides Mother and Father) on super 8 film in 1978, my first Video was in Lecanvey Churh in 1986 for my neighbor Michael and Carmel Fetherston.
The Ceremony was performed by Canon Niall Ahern a first cousin of George. It was a beautiful ceremony, the scenery on the was back to the Hotel was something else. I worked just for twenty minutes of dancing. The car in the photo at the hotel belong to George and it features at all the O’Connor weddings.
I would like to wish Eimear and Joe a long and happy life together.

Wedding Day Friday 18th August 2017.
This is my second wedding this year for the MC Donnell family.
I started at the Grooms home in Charleville Co. Cork a week before the wedding. They really enjoyed the crack, all the Best Man and Grooms Men and the family were around like if was the morning of the wedding. It was Pat the Brides father who drove me down. The day of the wedding they were saying they were dying to see the videoThe day itself I went to the Brides home, and a first for me the Bride had a special cup with Videographer written on it. The ceremony was conducted by Fr Liam Devine the new Parish Priest in Loughglynn it was his first wedding.
The Hotel was the Glasson Golf Course and Niall Flynn the manager did a great job as usual. I worked on until the tea break.
I would like to wish Ciara and Joe a long and happy life together.

Wedding Day

This was a great day especially to be back in the town I spent so much time around many years ago. I started the day in Rosses Point Church. The big surprise was that I knew both the Brides and Grooms Fathers when dealing with them when I was iin the Bar Trade.
The Ceremony was performed by Fr Vincent, he was a gem. The photo session was at Rosses Point and Lough Gill. The Reception was in the Sligo Park, the Band was David Mc Dermott another Castlerea man.
It was a most enjoyable day.

I would like to wish Joanne & Stephen a long and happy life together.

Thank you Joanne & Stephen for the text below received to day.

The reception was in the Hodson Bay and they have a great addition to the function room since I was in it last. Michael the banqueting Manager is one hell of a nice guy. Triona & Brendan

This was a wedding I certainly had something in common with the Groom Brendan. He was in a car accident the week before the wedding, I had an accident the week of the wedding. I think of the song “Nothing going to stop us now” thank God both of us turned up.
The day went great, this is my second wedding for Brendan’s family, last year Marita and David. I started with Triona and then back to Brendan’s home. The reception was in Castledargan and I worked on until 2pm. I was delighted the day went so well for Triona and David.

I would like to wish Triona and David a long and happy life together.

Aoife & Mark Wedding Day Sat 6th May 2017

I never seen the weather as good, especially to see the sun out for two days in a row. I had an early start I was at the Grooms home at nine in the morning. The best laugh of all was I put some tomato sauce on the groom make out he got cut from shaving, when the flower girl seen him she got a terrible fright she thought that Mark had his throat cut. I hit down to Ballaghaderreen to Aoife’s home and a bride I never seen more relaxed. Patricia did the flowers in the church really beautiful. Annete Griffin did the singing. We hit of to Lough Rynn and the photos in the gardens were magnificent.
The meal was lovely, the entertainment was by Mike Denver, what I liked most he played music to suit all generations, the floor was full all night. I worked on until 1.30.

I would like to wish Aoife & Mark a long and happy life together.

Julie & Conor Wedding Day, Friday 5th May 2017.

I was so looking forward to this wedding and it was a great wedding with nothing spared. I was up in Conor’s home the evening before. We had great fun, and we did like if it was the morning of the wedding. The hospitality was magnificent.
The morning before the wedding I called to Julie’s home, and Clare and Michael put some effort their home having it like a palace, for this very special day, even the turf was so neat you would be afraid to burn it. Julie and the bridal party called over to Clonalis house for a few photographs before going to the church.
Shane my son was operating another video camera to make sure we missed nothing. The day was magnificent with the sun breaking the stone. Fr. Micheal Donnelly performed the ceremony with Fr. John; and good friend of the family Fr. Kevin.
We got away as quickly as possible to Galway Salthill Hotel. The meal was lovely the band was great, I worked on until 1pm.

I would like to wish Julie & Conor a long and happy life together.
