Jacqueline & Shane Wedding Day Sat 18th August. I started in the Bride’s house with Bridesmaid’s Tara and Collete. The Ceremony in the Church went well and we hit away to the hotel and when we arrived at the first roundbout in Roscommon my driver  Chriss  did a lap 3 times of the roundabout with the happy couple. Rosineen was the photographer from Dublin a very nice girl to work with. It was great family occasion. The picture in the blog here was taken at the wishing well outside Ballintubber Church just before the happy couple drove away to the Hotel.

I would like to wish Jacqueline and Shane a long and happy life together.

Mantua National School Last Day Celebration’s was held on Sat 11th August. It was the oldest National School in the Country which was opened for 190 years.  We recorded the last day at the end of the school term. Carmel Quinn has become a celebratory as a result only having 3 pupils the day the school closed. Mass was celebrated by Bishop Christy Jones and local priest Fr. John Joe Gannon. People came from fare and near to celebrate this historic occasion. We were lucky it was one of the best days that came this year. Celebrations continued into the early hours.  Everybody had a great day and night.

Lisa & Aiden’s

Lisa & Aidan’s wedding was held in Castlerea Church on Friday 10th Aug the Hotel was Castledargin in Co. Sligo. This was the best day we had this year. It was a small wedding starting in the Bride’s home in Longford. Then back to the Church and the Ceremomy was conducted by Canon Joe Fitzerald. The Bride’s Father who was a classmate of mine  going to school in Castlerea, he is some character. The hotel lends itself to beautiful scenery, and Maurice Sirr the photographer made the most of it. The picture on this blog I received from Maurice Sirr that was taken in the Demesne  in Castlerea, a beautiful place,

I would like to wish Lisa & Aiden every happiness together in the years to come.

Amanda & Chris

Amanda & Chris were married  in Glinsk Church and the reception was  held in the Abbey Hotel Roscommon on Saturday 4th August. It was some day we were very lucky with the weather especially as we  went around the village to record the many bonfires that the neighbors put out.  Later at the speeches the Aussie’s  were slagging the Irish for burning the rubbish on the side of the road as the wedding cars passed by. Fr Joyce made a great job of the ceremony with the great jokes that he told. Then as the Bride and Groom left the Church the tune waltzing Matilda was played and everybody joined in, it was so moving. I was suppose to finish up with the tea break at 11 but by the time we got the interviews done with Sean Dowd it was 12.30 dancing was just finished. We started the day in Chris’s house and the crack was ninety. It is hard to beat the Abbey for a wedding reception, the food was excellent and one thing about the Abbey they get the guests sitting down for the meal in good time.

I would like to wish Amanda & Chris a long and happy life together.

The DVD was collected yesterday 6th Aug and I got great reports to day that they were up most of the night watching it last night.
